She Cares about the People First

I support Tina Cannon for Congress! She is the right person for the job. I have known Tina for over 20 years now, and have grown to love her for the honest and sincere person she is. She is extremely passionate about the constitution and everything about America. She has immense knowledge of the government and really does understand how things should operate to be in accordance with the Constitution and the Rule of Law. The 13 key principles that she is running on, demonstrate she understands the problematic issues that plaque our nation today.

Tina is not like the run of the mill, career politicians we seem to elect and re-elect every election cycle. She has real compassion for all people. She never hesitates to help those in need, not just family and friends. Yes, Tina and Dave gave tender and merciful care to Dave’s father during the last years of his life, and she continues to give loving care to her mother and father as her father suffers the “Long Goodbye” of Alzheimer’s disease. However, I’d like to point out; Tina had never known me, but that did not stop her from assisting my family during my battle with cancer, a battle that has been going on for many years.

When Tina heard a citizen of the community was in need, I ended up on the receiving end of her immense capacity for compassion. Although I was nothing more than a stranger to her that did not stop her from assisting my family, and me, as she brought our family numerous delicious dinners during my suffering through painful and debilitating cancer treatments. She even managed to get us hooked on her razzleberry pie and tasty, homemade caramels. Besides just bringing food, she invested her valuable personal time as she drove me to several Doctor appointments, over the months of my treatments. Rather than be a mere taxi service that just drop me off and left me on my own, she patiently waited with me during treatments, which sometimes were very long. Her compassion, and genuine love, has meant the world to me! Starting out as strangers, she has demonstrated that she is a true friend to me, who I will remind you, again, was a complete stranger.

Tina is a funny and quick-witted person. She keeps our friends group laughing. She can find humor in just about any situation, without losing the importance of solving problems at hand.

Tina is also a talented jewelry maker, and has shared her talents with so many people by teaching us how to make our own jewelry.

When it is Tina’s turn to host book club, we know we are going to be educated. She has us read books on subjects she is passionate about, such as the Constitution, the Founding Fathers, and how a thriving, safe America adds to a safe and thriving world. She personally inspires me to want to know more about this incredible country in which we are so very blessed to live.

Tina is such a well-rounded person. Her talents, love of country, compassion for all people, along with her qualifications, come together to make her the perfect person to represent Congressional district 1. She can relate to so many people’s different struggles and needs in their lives. Having lived in this district her entire life Tina understands the needs of District 1. Voting Tina into congress is a giant leap forward toward making the changes we need in this nation’s capital.

I fully endorse Tina for Congress and stand with her in support of the issues she will preserve and protect.

I have known Tina for 30 years

I first met Tina Cannon at Utah State University when we were both majoring in accounting, and I am honored to provide an endorsement for my friend and respected colleague of over 30 years.

Tina became great friends during our final years in college and have stayed friends ever since. In 2002, I recruited Tina to work with me when I opened Lunsford and Peck, a regional accounting firm specializing in business taxation. Tina became a skilled accountant with a deep understanding of federal, state, and local taxation.

Tina has used her skills to the serve the people of northern Utah. Her business experience has made her a strong advocate for fiscal responsibility, tax reform and local control within government.  Her understanding of financial accounting practices gives her a unique insight into the inefficiencies and waste of government programs. She understands the fiscal impacts of taxation on both families and businesses and will keep that in mind when creating budgets and setting policies that are funded with tax revenues.

Tina has experience working to ensure government represents the people has given her a passion for bringing proper financial controls and oversights to government processes and programs. This is not an easy task, and strong, experienced leadership is needed   bring financial control to Washington DC. Tina’s deep understanding of federal taxation will give her an advantage to know where to target reforms and policy changes make rapid changes in Washington DC.

We Need Tina Now, More than Ever

I’m Kathleen Anderson. I’ve known Tina Cannon for many years. We met for the first time at a service project at Primary Children’s Hospital. I liked her immediately. I thought she was sharp, confident and smart. She was a whole lot of everything good and praiseworthy in a petite package.

A few years after meeting, she and I (without consulting one another) made the decision to run for Congress in 2020 (albeit in different Congressional districts). While our reasons for running weren’t identical, they were very similar.

I didn’t seek to run, but was encouraged to. It wasn’t a decision entered into lightly. It came after much deliberation, prayer and family counsels.

Though I denounce identity politics, I’ll admit that I was concerned by the growing dearth of conservative female voices at the federal level. It was rare for me to see or hear from women who were like me or who shared my values as a wife and mother - Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, AOC and others weren’t messengers that I related to, and certainly were not role models I wanted for my daughters.

So, like Tina, I practiced what I’d always taught my kids: stand up, show up and speak up - even if it means doing it alone.

Then Covid hit and both of our campaigns ended before the June 2020 primary.

Unlike me, however, Tina Cannon Utah bravely filed to run again in 2022.

As a former candidate, let me attest to the strength, courage and resolve that takes. Running for federal office isn’t easy or fun; in fact it’s rarely enjoyable - except of course for some truly amazing people you meet along the way.

It’s my experience that few people run for the right reasons, and it’s very difficult for those candidates to win yet they’re the very candidates we need the most.

These candidates run at great personal financial and family sacrifice.

They don’t run for fame, a career or accolades.

They run because they love our Country and because they care about what remains once our fleeting time upon this earth comes to an end.

They run because they feel a calling or duty or responsibility to step up, show up and speak up.

Tina is that candidate. It is my great honor to support her, cheer for her, endorse her and pray for her election success.

We need Tina now more than ever.”
